Moving Day: Night 1

Thursday dawned bright and sunny, if not a little chilly!  J finished loading the trailer and van, while I did the last minute cleaning.  And, of course, the rental company showed up 15 minutes early and so they got to watch me finish wiping down the kitchen counters and floor :)

Miss S came over for a final good-bye, took a few pictures, and then prayed us on our way!

Bing got comfy in his new seat belt... it has saved food and laps from his paws ;p

After picking up paperwork at ISU,  and dropping off some "stuff" at J's dads, everyone settled in for our first days drive!

A few hours later, we arrived at my grandparents in Kansas... Mr. E immediately made friends with Grandpa!

Little Man was glad to be out of the car, and headed out in the field to explore.

My Aunt took all the boys to the shed to see the tractors :)

Later we all played in the house...

Little Man picked me some flowers... we took a picture for Nana!

And, finally, we went to bed, it's exhausting doing nothing in a car all day!!!

Moving Days

Our leaving began Sunday, when our church gave us a lovely farewell prayer.  J's mom and step-dad came up for the event.  Afterwards, we went to lunch... Berry fell asleep on the way (so did E).  When I unbuckled her, she just tipped over to continue her rest!

Mr. E enjoyed his hot dog bun, dipped in ketcup...

And, I managed to capture Pretty Girl's missing tooth grin (she lost a lower tooth on Friday... crazy girl)!

First thing Monday morning, our packers arrived to box everything in our home... I did keep a few items that seemed necessary for camping during the rest of the week!  Needless to say, the mess was highly annoying :)

While things were boxed, we spent the day outside playing... in the car...

... in the yard....

... Little Man built a Tee-Pee and sign...

Tuesday brought the truck loaders!  Little Man went to play with a friend and I distracted the tots with a bath!

Bing protected our table to the bitter end...

... and then, it was gone, so we ate on the floor :)

Mr. E enjoyed rolling his ball (actually, our neighbors ball) down the ramp in between loads!

And, finally, J bid his motorcycle a tearful farewell... moments before the sky opened up pouring cats and dogs in mass quantities!

We spent two more night in our home of almost 3 years (this shot was taken a few days earlier, so ignore the dresser) and on Thursday, headed south!
