Today is the Lord's Day!!! I have been reading Robbie Castlemen's Parenting in the Pew lately, while giving Ephraim his nebulizer... I have been reminded of preparing for this special day in advance. I have also been reminded of being joyful and excited about this day, not only for my benefit, but for my children's, so that they will catch the "joyful bug" and be ready to worship with me!
I am a normally organized person, but, come Sunday, things seem a bit rushed, so yesterday (Saturday) I:
Picked out clothes for everyone (even mine; but not Jeremy's)
Figured out I needed to collect pennies for Morgan's Haiti offering
Set out our morning snacks and prepared Morgan's milk and Miriam's bottle
Made our piles... Morgan's entertainment, our library return books, diaper bag, etc.
Set out the baby bowls, food, spoons, medicines etc.
Talked with Morgan about the Lord's Day and reminded him of the special activities that would be happening!
This morning:
I got up early and showered before nursing kiddos (a little nervous I'd leak... but all was well)
Collected pennies while waiting for water to boil before nursing Ephraim
Warned Jeremy that breakfast would be at 8 so I can't get upset when he's behind
Carried down Morgan's clothes so that he is ready to change
I still have things to do, and Blythe is finishing her nursing, so my time here is almost up... but I think I have made a positive step and I already feel much more relaxed and ready to worship, rather than rushing around in last minute preparation.
"Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him all creatures, here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost."
